Dave Welch Jr. spent 8 years in the United States Marine Corps.  He has combined his passion for horses and his passion for serving those who serve our communities by building the Healing Heroes with Horses program at the Cactus Rose Ranch in Valley Mills, TX.  He and his wife Erika founded the Cactus Rose Equine Foundation as a Texas Non-profit to cover tuition costs for those who are unable to afford to attend on their own.  The Cactus Rose Equine Foundation operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation under the Internal Revenue Code.  All contributions minus the fair market value of goods received are deductible for income tax purposes. .  Please read more below or click the donate button to give a one-time donation or to set up a monthly donation!

Over the years we have had many individuals attend a Healing Heroes with Horses session.  These sessions are designed to introduce Veteran's, Law-Enforcement, and First Responders stuggling with Post Traumatic Stress to our horses, our crew, and our philosophy of healing.  The vast majority of these individuals greatly desired to continue their healing journey with the Cactus Rose Ranch, but simply could not afford it.  The purpose of the Cactus Rose Equine Foundation is to provide these individuals with the opportunity to attend Healing Heroes with Horses Clinics and Programs at no expense to the qualified applicant.  Your donation is what makes this possible!  Large or small, one-time or monthly, every dollar goes to help our heroes begin the healing process by building a bond with horses.
